Meet The Team

Ashley Doolin Brown, MS, LMHC-S
Ashley Brown is a native of Fort Walton Beach and lives in the area with her husband and son, Jackson. Ashley is licensed in Florida as a Mental Health Counselor and is the Director of Mental Health at Beyond Expectations, Inc. As a Qualified Supervisor for the State of Florida, she is presently engaged in the supervision of several interns seeking to become Licensed Mental Health Counselors. Ashley earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Troy University, and her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of West Florida. Ashley has over 15 years experience and is dedicated to working with children, adolescents, couples and families. She also enjoys working with children on the Autism Spectrum and those with behavioral or transitional difficulties. Ashley has completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. As a military spouse, Ashley has a passion for working with our military and their families through daily stressors, deployments, and reintegration. Ashley has experience working with individuals on their journey through gastric by-pass surgery or weight loss struggles. In addition to counseling, she is certified to administer the ADOS-2 Assessment, which is the gold standard for the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Aimee Garcia, MS, LMHC
Aimee Garcia is an LMHC in Florida. Aimee graduated with a Master’s degree in clinical psychology and counseling from Troy University, with an undergraduate in Psychology from the University of West Florida. Aimee uses a variety of approaches to assist clients in a positive, strength based manner dependent on the individual’s needs. Aimee utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy and psychoeducation extensively. Aimee has experience providing individual, couple, group, and family counseling to youth and adults. She has worked with issues such as: Communication Barriers, Rehabilitative Services, Domestic Violence, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Mood Disorders, Grief and Loss, Child Abuse and Neglect, Behavioral Problems and Stress Management.

Lori Manning, MS, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Lori Manning is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern at Beyond Expectations. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Southwest. Lori has experience counseling individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD-related challenges, abuse, and neurological disorders. She strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for clients, while promoting a safe place for healing without judgement. Lori utilizes play therapy, CBT, family therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions to suit individual needs. Her goal is to help children and teens reach their highest potential and to help families live more harmonious and happier lives together.

Michelle Dugas, MAMFT, LMHC
With 14 years of experience as a clinician and more than 30 years of experience in Christian ministry, Michelle Dugas is equipped to deal with a broad spectrum of clients and their unique concerns. Her areas of expertise are trauma recovery, depression and anxiety, OCD, grief counseling, marriage issues, and adolescent issues. Her passion is to guide individuals and couples through life's hurts and trauma to recovery and healing.
Michelle’s counseling career began in New Orleans, LA after Hurricane Katrina. She has extensive training in trauma counseling and draws from the modalities of EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, DBT, Sand Tray Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. She is also a trained Prepare/Enrich counselor. Her preferred clients are adolescents and adults.
Michelle wants to provide a safe refuge for those who have been devastated by one or more of life’s tragic moments. Life is hard. Many people carry around secrets creating so much shame and pain. At any moment, we can experience a crisis when the unexpected happens. We all suffer. Healing is possible but it takes time. Let's walk this journey to recovery together.
Laiken Miller, MS,
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
Laiken Miller is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern at Beyond Expectations. Laiken has lived in the Destin/ Fort Walton Beach area her whole life. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Troy University. Laiken has experience working with children and families in the foster care system and has worked closely with CPS and adults in APS. Her preferred clients are children and teens. She has experience working in individual, group, and family counseling settings. Laiken utilizes CBT with a holistic and mindfulness based approach. She has worked with issues related to: Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Depression, and Child Abuse. Laiken’s goal is to help people heal and overcome life stressors so they can build a healthy perception of themselves and strengthen their relationships with others.

Chicquila Cox, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
Chicquila Cox is a registered clinical social work intern with the state of Florida. She has obtained a Master of Social Work from Western New Mexico University. She has worked with a myriad of populations from the homeless, military, adolescents, veterans, children, and groups. Chicquila Has experience working with people that struggle with anxiety, depressions, ADHD, PTSD, addiction, and abuse. She has experience in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, individual and group therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies. Chicquila’s goal is to create a safe environment/space for you to come to, built on trust, that is conducive to your healing goals and needs.
